SCRIP WHAT IS IT? Scrip is a year round fund raiser that benefits the school as well as your family tuition account. You will not be buying pizza or candy or items you don't really want or may never use, but you will be purchasing gift cards from over 200 retailers where you already shop.
HOW DOES IT WORK? The program is simple. You place an order and pay face value for the gift cards. TOCS purchases the gift cards at a discount (from 2% - 20% or greater) through Great Lakes Scrip Center (see link at the bottom of the page). The difference between the amount you have paid and what the school has paid is the revenue. It is then divided 50/50 between your family tuition account and the school's account. HOW MUCH CAN I SAVE? As soon as percents and revenue were mentioned some eyes glazed over, so here is a very easy to follow example: you want to by a $100 American Airline (16% discount) gift card. You write a check for $100. The school orders your card and pays Scrip $84. The difference between what you paid and that which the school paid ($100-$84 = $16) is the revenue. You then get half ($16/2 = $8) of that put into your family tuition account. The $8 in the above example may not seem like a lot but the potential is endless. You can purchase cards for your groceries (Dierbergs and Shop n Save). You can do all your Christmas shopping through Scrip. Either give the cards as the gifts or use them to buy the gifts. That morning cup of coffee from Starbucks can really add up over the span of a year. How many times a month, do you run to the hardware store (Home Depot, Lowe's, and Ace hardware)? It all adds up! HOW DO I GET STARTED? STEP #1 Choose a retailer(s) and denomination of card(s) - For the most up to date listing you can visit the Great Lakes Scrip Center website (see link at the bottom of this page). STEP #2 Fill out the order form (download the form below) STEP #3 Turn form into school office with check/cash. This program is not just limited to you. Your family and friends can come in and purchase cards and have the money directed to your account. Last year several families had their tuition balances reduced by hundreds of dollars just by using Scrip on a monthly basis. This is money you are already spending, so why not pay off your tuition at the same time?
INSTANT SCRIP Don't forget that the following cards are available in the office for you to purchase at anytime. Home Depot - $25 Lowe's - $25 Subway - $10 Pizza Hut - $10 Domino's - $5 Panera (St. Louis Bread) - $10 Starbucks - $10/25 Walgreens - $20 Exxon/Mobil - $50 Dierbergs - $25/100 Shop n Save - $25/100 You do not have to wait for an order date to get these cards. We have made this process easier by eliminating the standard scrip form. Instead, we now have a clip board located just inside the office window with a simplified form. Fill out the cards you want and write your check or get your cash out and the ladies will fill your order. It is that simple. In addition to scrip order days, if you have an order totaling $500 or more we can place a special order. Just call or email Mindy LeVar at 636-220-6583 (her email is mindylevar@charter.net) prior to bringing in the order to the office.
