What's it all about? PE at TOCS focuses on helping students understand what it means to be healthy. To run, play, and work on the many fine and gross motor skills associated with games and sports helps us develop and maintain healthy bodies. We also desire healthy attitudes and talk often of playing and competing with integrity. God has created us in His image and it is our responsibility to develop and nurture proper attitudes toward health and well being in our efforts to glorify Him in our body and spirit (1 Cor 6:20). Find the complete TOCS philosophy of PE on the "my resources" page of this website. What's Happening In PE: Students are encouraged to soar! We continue to soar and desire to finish strong in PE class. 7th grade students are learning the finer techniques of bowling and will be experiencing a new adventure with geocasching, a high-tech treasure hunting game. The 4th - 6th grade students are wrapping up the year with softball and ultimate frisbee while our younger students are reviewing the playground games we have available outside. Regardless of what our unit entails we will do our best to enjoy God's creation, be challenged in our physical abilities, and develop new friendships. Check it out! Make sure you check out the new PE bullentin board on the wall across from the gym doors. There you will find PE specific Bible verses, inspiritional sayings to ponder, and general PE information. Important things to remember: As always, make sure that when your child has PE class that he/she comes prepared with tennis shoes and clothing that is conducive to activity.
